I know a Superman.
Perhaps we all do. In many ways we are so many Supermen, -women, -boys and -girls ourselves.
But this one I find has become extra special. Extra super.
Supermen save lives. So has he.
They have super powers. So has he. Except that they are called Patience, Tolerance, Forbearance, Endurance and Perseverance. Quite astonishing what one can achieve even when one doesn't fly or wear his underwear over his pants.
Supermen have people standing beside them watching as they accomplish what the ordinary person can only dream of achieving. Well, he has me watching in awe atleast!
Supermen have doubts. About whether they're doing the right thing. Saving the world, saving lives has its own consequences. So has he. I can testify!
Supermen get headlines in leading dailies, media coverage, hot photographers itching for their story. He hasn't. He's just doing his "saving-the-world and making-it-a-better-place-before-bedtime" routine quietly, unacknowledged. but doing it all the same. And doing a ruddy good job!
But who is he? A bird, a plane, THE Superman now scorching skies over Calcutta??
No.
He is one of us. An ordinary citizen, an average Superman.
But no less super than the superest of them all!!!
